Collaborative School Committee

PURPOSE: The Collaborative Decision Making Committe (CSC) is the decision making body for the school. The CSC is composed of the principal, four teachers elected by the staff, four parents elected by parents of the school, a classified person, and a community or business representative.

DUTIES OF CSC COMMITTEE:

• Develop school procedures and policies.
• Organize content of courses, programs and curriculum.
• Establish annual survey of school performance.
• Set goals that emulate district goals and strategic plans.
• Design instructional program for all students.
• To enhance student achievement and school climate.
• Provide strategic direction in support of school's mission.
• Establish relationships with community.
• Establish budget priorities and allocate school budget.

MEETINGS: Meetings will normally be held once a month. Days and times will be determined by the CSCcommittee each year. The community will be notified of days and times of meetings. Meetings will be limited to 2 hours. Anyone may attend and speak for three minutes if they sign up prior to the meeting. Minutes will be prepared and made available to faculty members and parents and will be posted in the main hallway of Fallis. CSC committee will do a mid-year and end of year self-evaluation.

TERMS OF MEMBERS: Membership of the CSC committee should represent the diversity of the school population to the extent possible. The teacher representatives will be elected for a two-year term. The classified employee will serve a one-year term or utilize a rotating schedule. Parents will be elected to a one-year term. If possible, the business representative will serve for continuing terms.
