Principal's Desk

It is my pleasure to welcome all parents and students to Fallis Elementary for the 2004-2005 school year. We are pleased to have you as partners in this educational year.

Our motto is to "IF YOU CAN IMAGINE IT, YOU CAN ACHIEVE IT", therefore we expect the best from everyone in our school. All teachers and students are beginning to focus on the curriculum. Also, all classroom behaviors have properly been clarified. If you have any concerns about any aspect of your child's education, feel free to contact the classroom teacher, support staff, or me. We welcome your inquiries and feedback.

Principal's Philosophy

Schools must provide a safe learning environment that is structured to develop the best in students, teachers, and administrators. Thus, a "caring community" is created which is sensitive to the diverse special needs of all students. Emphasis should be focused on curriculum, student achievement, and pro-social development of the students. Therefore, students will have been provided an educational experience that is meaningful and appropriate in everyday life.

Discipline Program

Bully proofing and Character Education helps students understand that they have the right to be safe at school, and provides them with a nurturing environment. Students are taught how to solve problems by using strategies to respond to a person who is bullying them. They learn about why children bully each other, the difference between normal conflict and bullying, the difference between tattling and telling and how to "bully proof" themselves. Your child deserves the most positive educational climate possible for his/her growth.

Fallis Visitors/Dismissal Procedures

All visitors are required by the District to sign in at the office and receive a visitor's pass. Visitors will not be permitted to enter any classroom unless they present an official pass from the office. Parents needing a conference regarding their child/children should schedule a meeting before or after school hours. We would appreciate all parents/guardians who are picking their child/children up after school to wait in the front of the school or on the west side of the building.

Wednesday Folders

Each student at Fallis has a Wednesday Folder. All communications from school are sent home to you in this folder. Your child is responsible for returning this folder to his or her classroom teacher on Thursday. If you want to stay up to date on school matters, please make it a point to ask your child for the Wednesday Folder each week.

Pupil Absence Hotline

If your child is absent from school, we would appreciate your calling the office at 303-388-5981 by 8:00 a.m..

Party Treats and Snacks for Classrooms

To stay in compliance with the district Food Services Department, we are requesting that parents only provide store bought packaged treats for students. IT IS OUR POLICY NOT TO CONDUCT BIRTHDAY PARTIES FOR STUDENTS.

Immunization

To attend any Colorado school, your child's immunizations must be current. If you have not returned your child's records, please do so immediately. School principals will be forced to suspend children from attending classes until the vaccinations are complete. Please contact our school nurse, Natalie Sneed, for information concerning low cost clinics.
